Blocolouco have moved to a new practice venue. We now practice on Tuesdays from 7:30pm (arrive early ready to start at 7:30) at:

Come along to our workshops:

No experience necessary as we are a community band, but any musical or percussion experience is a bonus! You don't need to bring any instruments along as we have plenty. Practice sessions cost £4 per session.

Who are Blocolouco?

Blocolouco are a community samba group formed in January 2007 at the MAC in Edgbaston.  We offer workshops in samba percussion to the people of Birmingham and the West Midlands, no experience necessary - you just need to be an adult, or bring a parent/guardian.  Beginner? The Winter is a good time to start learning samba as this is when we go back to basics i.e. techniques, new rhythms, new instruments etc.  Then we start preparing for the gig season over summer and autumn.
